Waterproof Liners

When you shop for nursery items, you should include waterproof liners. You can take one with you on trips to protect surfaces from accidental diaper leakage. However, you don't have to view them as a necessity in your nursery unless your crib or mattress isn't waterproof. On the other hand, if you are using a cloth mattress pad, you may want to use a water proof liner. It's really a judgement call, but when it comes time to clean up, you will save yourself some time by using waterproof liners.

When you bring your baby home, you will want to preserve as much time as possible to tend to your baby's needs. One way to do that is to use items that streamline the processes of caring for a newborn. There are many items in stores that you can call luxuries, but waterproof liners can be removed with wet linen; thus, you're ready to put fresh bedding down and perhaps that means that you can get back to sleep a bit sooner. Take it easy on yourself, too, during the first months of your baby's life and use items that will save you time and trouble.

•  Most baby mattresses are plastic and waterproof, but a waterproof liner is removeable; thus, easier to clean.

•  Clean the liner before use in your crib, bassinet or cradle.

•  Waterproof liners can drip dry on a line or spread out on your shower curtain rod.
