Feeding BabyHaving a baby is often one of the greatest joys you will ever experience in your life. They are so little, and they depend on you for everything. Your baby depends on you to change his diaper, bathe him, snuggle him, and feed him. While you may know how to do them all. There might be some questions you have about feeding your baby. When you had your baby in the hospital, the nurse brought him to you, and told you what his feeding schedule was, right? Well, once you get home, you really want to stick with the feeding schedule. Most of the time, your baby should want to eat every 4 hours. However, once you are home, it is very easy to get the schedule messed up and confused. If have gotten home from the hospital, and cannot remember the next feeding time for your baby, do not worry. Most babies will let you know when they are hungry. Especially when they have already gotten used to the feeding schedule. Most babies have different cries for different reasons. While your baby may have a soft cry and uneasy squirm for a wet diaper, his cry for hunger is probably louder and a little angry. If your baby is crying, try and see if he is ready for a bottle. The worst that can happen if he is not ready to eat, is he will spit it out, and continue to cry, but will want no part of the bottle. You can place the bottle back into the fridge, and heat it back up for later if you wish. While trying to keep your baby on a feeding schedule may be difficult at times, you may also wonder if your baby is getting enough to eat. There is a very easy way to tell if your baby is getting full on the amount of formula you are giving him. Once you are done feeding your baby, and the bottle is empty, you take it away from him. If your baby cries, this may be a sign that he is ready for the feeding amount to be increased about an ounce. If you take your baby's bottle away after he is finished and he acts perfectly happy, you will know that the amount of formula that you are feeding your baby is enough. Now that you know when your baby is hungry, and how to tell if he has had enough, you might be wondering if you are feeding him properly. When you feed your baby with a bottle, you will want to hold your baby, be sure that the baby is not laying completely flat, but just back a little. You will also want to make sure that the bottle is held up as well. When you do not hold the bottle up, the baby will swallow air, and this will result in a stomach ache, that might be painful. eeping your baby well fed will result in a happier baby. If you still think that you may not be feeding your baby properly, you should consult your pediatrician. Because babies grow so fast, you will want to make sure that you keep up with the formula increases as necessary.
