DiapersDisposable diapers are a great convenience. Wrap it up and toss it out. When you are stocking your nursery, keep in mind that your baby will rapidly outgrow the newborn size. It is almost comical how quickly they grow. At first most babies seem to swim in the "newborn" sized diapers and in days, they seem to out-grow them. The weigth recommendations on the packages are simply that estimations of the weight requirements for the diaper to fit. When you use disposable diapers, you should watch carefully for skin irritations. Every diaper is different. If your baby develops a rash that is similar to a diaper rash, but there aren't the usual causes of diaper, your baby may be allergic to the diaper. If you discover that your baby has an allergic reaction to a particular brand, investigate the other brands that are manufactured by the same company. When in doubt, simply change from one major brand to another. If your infant has an allergic reaction to Luvs, then try Pampers or vice versa. Once you change the brand, the rash will disappear. Of course, you should consult your pediatrician with any questions that you have regarding rashes of any kind.
