Baby WipesBaby wipes are a convenient way to clean your baby's bottom. You will be happier if you select a brand that has thick, soft cloth-like wipes. Some generic brands are adequate and get the job done, but they aren't as soft as name brand baby wipes; you know how much you appreciate a soft toilet tissue, so apply that same knowledge to your baby's needs and you will be set. If your baby has a diaper rash, do not use baby wipes. Although most wipes do not have alcohol in or on them, they still sting. When your baby's bottom is bright red and irritated, you should use a soft, plush wash cloth and a gentle cleanser. Allowing your baby's bottom to air dry will help it heal from the diaper rash. After the rash is gone, you can return to using baby wipes. Watch for signs of an allergic reaction to wipes. Sometimes one brand may have an allergen and another will not; trial and error will get you through this time, but if your baby has an allergic reaction to one brand change to another major brand. Major brands are usually owned by different companies while generics may be owned by the same company. Thus, by using major brands you will have a greater chance to avoid the allergen altogether.
