Bath Tub Safety
Bath tub safety is important for babies as well as older kids. If you are a first time mom, chances are this is something that you are concerned about. Don't worry, all new moms experience being nervous and scared when they are bathing their baby for the first time.
However, here are some bath safety tips you can use to help ease your mind:
- Never turn your back or leave your child unattended in the bath tub. Not even for a second.
- If a large bathtub makes you nervous, use a baby bath tub to bathe your infant. However, do not set the tub up on anything. Set it on the floor.
- Test the water before putting your baby in the tub. Make sure it is neither too cold nor too hot.
- Keep one hand on your toddler in the tub at all times.
- Do not allow your toddler to stand up in the tub, as he could easily slip and fall.
- Before you put your child into the tub, have his towel, wash cloth, diaper, and change of clothes laid out and ready so that you will not have to leave your baby to and go get those things.
Taking a bath should be a fun time for your little one. However, you should also be a safe about it as possible. While you are bathing your baby, talk to him in a soft voice and never startle him while he is in the tub. Try not to make fast sudden moves either, or do anything that will scare him and make him not enjoy bath time.
Bath tub safety is not hard to learn. It is mostly common sense, however a new mother might be concerned about it. Bath time toys are great for taking your child's mind off of the washing process. Give them a couple of toys they can play with while you are bathing them.

Using a baby bath seat for your toddler in the tub will help him sit up, so that you can get down to business with washing him. Allow your child to splash a little, and get used to the water when you put him in the tub. You want bath time to be fun, not dreaded.
