Baby's First BathBaby's first bath is a bath that usually involves the camera, and for those mom's that love to scrapbook, it is definitely a time for that as well. If you are worrying about giving your little one his first bath, there is no need to worry. We have a list of tips that can help you get through this as if it were a breeze. The first thing that you should know before you give your baby his first bath is that the umbilical cord should be gone before going into the tub. If the umbilical cord is still there, and you are still drying it up with alcohol, then it is a good idea to just sponge bathe him for now, and avoid getting that area very wet. However, if the umbilical cord has fallen off, and your baby is ready for his first bath, here are some great bath tips that you can use:
While you are giving your baby his first bath, you want to be sure that you wash his hair with baby shampoo. Preferably one that says no tears. That way if some did drip into his eyes, he would not scream and his eyes would not burn. Also be sure to keep both hands on your baby. One to hold him in the position you need him in and the other one to bathe him. Talk to your baby very softly while bathing him for the first time, and this will be the first bath of many enjoyable ones. |
