Shop for non-toxic water filled teethers; if an accident does occur with a water-filled teether, the water won't be harmful to your baby.
Hard plastic teethers, which are the kind you probably had when you were an infant are available, too. Almost every teether is machine washable or dishwasher safe so you can keep them clean and germ-free. Of course, you can hand wash teethers, too; be sure to rinse them well so your baby won't get a mouth full of soap. Teethers are good for your baby and will help you keep her entertained when she is teething.
