Time for the dirty work!

Here's everything that you need in the diaper department for your new baby:

  • Diapers
  • Diaper Wipes
  • Diaper Pail
  • Changing Table
  • Changing Pad
  • Diaper Cream/Ointment (Desitin Ointment or Vaseline are good ones)
  • Diaper Bag
  • Cotton Balls
  • Very Mild Soap
  • Wash Cloth
  • Baby Wipe Warmer

You are going to invest a small fortune in diapers. If you register with diaper manufacturers, they will mail coupons for their products to you. It is easier to register online, but you can also call diaper manufacturers customer service lines and register. Sunday newspapers often have coupons for diapers in their mix of coupons and you can also watch store flyers for diaper discounts and sales.

What is best for baby?

We've made things easy for you. On each page of our site, we'll post our product recommendations. These recommendations are for baby products that have been highly rated, highly recommended, and recognized as safe, quality products.

The best for your baby's bottom:

Diapers Diaper Pails
Changing Tables Wipe Warmers
Wipes Diaper Bags

When you find a sale on diapers, you can save by purchasing several packages at one time. You should get in the habit of having plenty of diapers on hand because you don't want to run out of them. Keep several diapers in your diaper bag at all times and be sure to replentish the supply after each trip.

Anther great idea is to keep a couple of diapers in your car. Perhaps you have room in the glove compartment or other area. Inadvertantly, you will forget a diaper bag and you will be glad that you have a stash of diapers in your car for these moments. Diapers are a fact of life, but you can keep on top of your needs by preparing for the little "glitches" that sometimes occur.

Nobody needs a leaky diaper. Consumer Reports rates PAMPERS, HUGGIES, LUVS, BABY BASICS ULTRA LEAKAGE PROTECTION, and AMERICA'S CHOICE as all "QUICK PICKS." Pampers and Huggies are recommended if you child is "prone to leaks" and the other three as "best values." Eliminate odors with a diaper pail instead of having to smell them until the trash is taken out.

And don't forget the baby wiper warmer. Baby's bottom hates being cold from a wet wipe.
